Dave Cavell is an attorney, public servant, and communications strategist with a career spanning the highest levels of government, politics, and policy.

He has served as a speechwriter in two White Houses, as head speechwriter for Vice President Kamala Harris (2022-2023) and a presidential speechwriter for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama (2015-2017).

As a spokesperson and media strategist for the Biden Administration’s international climate policy, Dave worked with Secretary John Kerry and represented our nation on the world stage, including at the United Nations and diplomatic summits in Senegal, France, the United Kingdom, China, and Azerbaijan. As Senior Advisor and Assistant Attorney General to then-Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey (2017-2019), he helped sue the Trump administration 50 times. He began his career as deputy speechwriter for then-Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick (2007-2010).

He ran for Congress in Massachusetts’ 4th District in the 2020 Democratic primary. In recent years, he has advised Fortune 500 executives, former Cabinet secretaries, and major philanthropists.
